CARA
Cara with Windows Vista
Cara is now a discontinued product. Due to its age Cara is not
certified to run with Windows Vista.
However our experience is that Cara does run with Vista (see
guidance below). Miccant cannot provide any support should you choose
to run Cara with Vista and Miccant makes no guarantees that your copy
of Cara will run correctly with Vista.
Only Cara Pro v1.4 and v1.4r5 will run with Vista. Older versions of Cara
that require the use of a parallel port dongle do not work with Vista.
Install and activate Cara in the usual way (see below if you've forgotten
what to do). The first time you run Cara you may receive a warning dialog
that quotes error number -1005. This is because Cara must be allowed to
run in 'adminstrator mode'. Vista will offer to re-start Cara with Adminstrator
Privilege - you should take this option.

area to see if there is a download for your Cara.
Need to activate your Cara?
If you have purchased a new computer or need to re-install Cara
for any reason then it will require re-activating by Miccant.
Here's the procedure:
1. Re-install Cara using your CD
2. Run Cara for the first time and note the new Reference Number that
is displayed on the scrren
3. Request
an activation code from this website
4. Copy the activation code you will receive by email to the windows clipboard
5. Start Cara again and paste in this activation code

Cara Version History
Version1 .4 of Cara is protected by requiring you to obtain an activation
code from Miccant:
CaraPro v1.4 release 5 (released 2000)
CaraPro v1.4 (released 1999)
All versions listed below were released prior to 1998 and were protected
by a parallel port dongle. None of these old copies of Cara work with
any version of Windows after Win 98 Second Edition.
